When I type something in the search bar I can't read it (without highlighting) because you have put black text on a black template.
I suggest changing the text to white.

Yes I cant seem to change that use the search bar in the widget.

Cool, thanks. 
I suggest removing the search bar at the top until you can figure out how to change the colour of the text.
